Land Rover Discovery 4 Door Lock Problem

From memory it was something to do with the door latching mechanism on its way out so sometimes when you lock the car it won t lock because the door latch appears to be open.

I had this exact problem a while back. He replaced the setup which comes as a kit was around 600 fitted. While i liked the idea of a british marque the decision was my mistake as i didn t do enough research. Start from the bottom.

Remove the 2 torx screws that hold the dust cover on top and bottom i could lift up the cover and see that the nylon bush that holds. Last time it did it i gently hit the door skin in the area of the lock mechanism from the outside of the vehicle with the flat of my hand and it opened and has continued to work normally so far.

The door card is now loose and can be pulled gently from the door. Be careful removing the door card as there is wiring and the door lock cable attached to the door card. Ocassonally my passenger side rear door acts as if the childlock is engaged but won t even open from the outside either. I ve had my 2016 land rover discovery 4 for 18 months now and unfortunately believe the purchase was floored and i should have stuck by replacing my 22 year old 80 series toyota land cruiser with a 200 series.

Remove 7 screws from the door car 1 from behind the door lock handle 4 from the grab handle 2 from the bottom of the door.
